A Different Point of View

Mary Poppins started it all for me. She could fly and I so wanted to fly like her. Many an umbrella was lost to Houston storms as I jumped in to the air with my parasol in the southern city's notoriously strong gales, The umbrellas would inevitably flip inside out after a small bit of lift carried me just a couple of feet off of the ground.

As an adult I pursued my lifelong dream of becoming a pilot, but just for fun, as I had two children and my husband and I owned an electronics business which kept me busy. The often recited quote by Leonardo Da Vinci, certainly rings true for me. "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return." After becoming a pilot, I became an Advanced Ground School Instructor and a foreign language instructor to help improve foreign students' English abilities, to make the skies safer for everyone. Flying is still a passion, however, I discovered the world of drones which has given me a new way to take to the skies.

My attention and focus has shifted to UAS for several reasons. Aviation is seriously fun and exhilarating, but it is also seriously expensive and not something I do daily. Drones offer me an opportunity to combine my love flying and photography in a way that I can help others see the world from a different point of view, and other than the occasional day of inclement weather, I can fly almost daily. Travel is an overriding passion in my life and drones help me record and share that passion with others. After our kids grew up and we sold our business in 2015, my husband and I became full-time nomads, traveling the world continuously. It has given me enormous joy to create a business, HoverHIgher.com, that allows me to do all of the things that I love together.

It would be an honor and a pleasure to help you see the world from a different point of view. Let me know what your project idea is and where you are. It would be great to work with you!
